AMOUR meets ANNIHILATION in this interior sci-fi drama that examines the complexities of grief, death and mental illness. Told through a humanist lens it examines the lives of a mourning wife, an aging doctor and a nefarious religious figure whose paths intertwine as an insidious, space-borne virus wreaks havoc on a small-town man, whose body has become a host to a botanical parasite. It's blends classic sci-fi and horror films, such as INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS, ALIEN and THE THING, with the more nuanced dramas like MANCHESTER BY THE SEA, GHOST STORY and TAKE SHELTER. This is a mostly contained project written to be produced in the sub-$2 million dollar range.
